Common Name: Tow-flower slender-petal

I found this plant in TNAU in Coimbatore in a well irrigated garden area (May 2023). The entire plant is soft, and glabrous and grows to a height of about 10 cm. The stem is squarish and has ridges. The leaves are simple and arranged in an opposite manner; they are near sessile; and margins entire. The leaf length measurers around 3.5 cm; the leaf is elliptic-ovate in shape; base cuneate and apex acute. The inflorescence is in the form of an axillary or terminal cyme. The tubular flower is very small and measure around 3 mm across and the four petals are white in color. The calyx is green in shape with four teeth: the calyx measure around 2 mm. The flower stalk measurers around 1 mm in length.
