Common name Pilwan Tamil name Sirukattukodi.

Prefers dry wasteland areas around Coimbatore. It starts to grow as a creeper on trees soon becomes a thick set woody coil liana with a fissured bark. The leaves are simple light green in color with smooth texture. The upper branches loop down, they look beautiful. The flowers are inconspicuous of yellow color. Fruits are red in color turning black when fully ripe. Fast disappearing from urban landscape of Coimbatore.
