Ranunculus reniformis is endemic to the Western ghats area of Tamilnadu and Kerala. It is a rare perennial herbaceous plant found above 2000 msl in shola grassland habitat. The flowers are bisexual and radially symmetric. The stamens are distinct and many; they are arranged in the periphery of the central dome-like structure in the middle of the flower. The carpels are also distinct and many. They are arranged spirally on the central portion of the flower dome. The fruit is in the form of achenes. This plant was photographed at Mesapuliamala, at 2600 msl, in Kerala state on 5th 2026.
