A peltata is a small herb endemic to the western ghat regions of India. It is found on mountainous rocky cliff surfaces in Tropical habitat areas of the Western Ghats. The leafs are arranged in an alternate manner and have a heart shaped base and are orbicular in shape. The leaf stalk is centrally inserted to the leaf blade. The inflorescence is a spathe (like cobra lily). They often are hidden behind the light green large leafs. The spathe is cream-white in color which measure around 1.5 cm. The plant is overall very attractive and probably has ornamental value.
