This plant was encountered on a rocky surface in Valparai hills of Coimbatore district. It is a perennial shrub with attractive orange to scarlet flowers. It grows to a height of about a meter. The plant has an angular stem. Leaves are compound (imparipinnate-unipinnate leaf with odd number of leaflets) arranged in alternate manner. The number of leaflets is variable; generally between 3 to 5 numbers. The under-side of the leaf is silvery in color and has a silky feel. The venation of the leaf is striate. Flowers are attractive and are borne on the leaf axis. The seed bearing pod is flat, linear and dehiscent. Plant has the potential to be positioned in the ornamental segment.
