Probably native to the Indian sub-continent G quardifaria is a small herb which can grow to around 10 cm in length. The simple leaves are sessile and ovate in shape; the tip is acute. The flowers are blue in colro and about 4 mm across. The fruit is in the form of a capsule. This plant can be seen in grassy areas around Avalanche in Nilgiris at near 2000 MSL.
