V. Inerms is often found near shorelines and beaches. The branches are quadrangular in shape. The plant can assume the shape of a roundish bush of about 2 meters high. The plant also has climbing tendency and is often seen rambling over other plants. The simple leaves of the plant are arranged in opposite or whorled manner. The leaf shape is narrowly lance-shaped. They produce fragrant tubular bisexual flowers on the leaf axis. The petals are white in color. The stamens are very long and project conspicuously out of the flower.
