Common Name: Thorn less turkey berry. Tamil Name: Kattu Sundal. Thorn less turkey berry is seen in dry deciduous forest ranges around Anaikatti, in Coimbatore district. The plant grows to a height of about 1.5 meters. The entire plant has sticky feel. The leaves are ovate-elliptic; apex is acute and base is truncate. The margins are wavy. The flowers are purple-violet in color. The fruit is a globose berry, which turn orange when fully ripe. In Anaikatti area the same plant was observed to produce white flowers
