Simple leaf
In the case of simple leaf a single lamina is attached to a stem by one petiole (leaf stock). In the case of hibiscus you can see that alternate simple leafs are arranged spirally. Other examples of simple alternate leaf arrangement include, Mango tree and Sunflower pant

Distichous and Deccusate arrangement of leaf
In False Ashok Tree the alternate leaves are arranged in 2 vertical rows on oppoiste sides of the stem. This arrangement is termed Distichous. Distichous arrangment is common in family Graminaeae (grass family).
In Calotropis the simple leafs are arranged in opposite style. The pair or leaves on the node is at right angles to the line or insertion of leaves at the next node. This arrangement is called Opposite deccusate. Another example of such leaf arrangement is Ocimum (Tulsi).
