Common Name: Panicled Rattlepod.
Panicled Rattlepod is a shrub which grows to a height of about one meter. The entire plant is sticky, on touch the viscous substance gets attached to hand. The leaves are simple and alternatively arranged; leaf shape is oblong to inverted lance shape; leaf tip is pointed. The stipules are notably prominent, linear and arcuate (curved in shape). The yellow pea shaped flowers are borne on long terminal panicles. The fruit is ellipsoid, horned and velvety. They contain 1-2 seeds. This plant is found all over South India. This plant was photographed from Coimbatore District of Tamilnadu. The plant has ornamental potential and is suitable for home gardens and butterfly gardens.
