Cat spider flower is a woody prostrate herb often found in fallow lands in dry arid areas of Peninsular India. The entire plant is hairy and gland dotted. The leafs are trifoliate and sessile. The leaves are thick, gland dotted and margins entire and ciliated. The largest leaflet (central) measures around 1.2 cm and the two side leaflets measure around 1 cm in length. The leaf stalk measures around 5 mm. The leaves are oval in shape, with a cuneate base and a rounded apex.The flowers are axillary and single. The flower petals are purple in dark pink color. The flower measurers across around 1.5 cm. The fruit is in the form of a beaked capsule which measure around 1.3 cm. The capsule contains several seeds.
