Common Name: East India Klugia, South-Indian Toungue-lip.

East India Klugia is commonly seen around rocky areas near streams and waterfalls in Western Ghat’s region. It grows to a height of about 2 feet. The simple leaves are glossy green in color; leaf margin is entire. The leaves are ovate in shape with a heart shaped base which is oblique; the leaf tip is acute. The inflorescence is in the form of a terminal raceme. The flowers are dark blue in color, bi-lipped and have yellow markings on its throat. The lower petal is large and shovel shaped. The fruit is in the form of a capsule.
