Common name: Fleshy Epithema
Fleshy epithema is an annual that grows to around 15 cm in height and has wide distribution in the Indian Sub-continent region. They prefer to grow on rocky moist areas. The leaves are oval-roundish in shape with an rounded apex and a heart shaped base. The leaf margin is toothed. The inflorescence is in the form of a terminal cyme. The four petaled flower is tubular and purple in color. This plant was encountered near rocky slopes near a waterfall area in Tenkashi in Tamilnadu.
