
Common Name: Gold shower
Gold shower is an evergreen shrub native to South America and grows to a height of about 4 feet. The branches are lenticulate and young parts of the plant have a purplish tinge. The leaf stalk and leaf measure around 7 mm and 2.7 cm respectively. The oppositely arranged leaves are elliptic in shape with an acute tip and an unequal base. The inflorescence is in the form of a terminal raceme. The flower petals are yellow in color; the petals are not joined together. The flower stalk measure around 7-8 mm in length. The calyx is green in color. The petals measure around 9 mm each and are ovate in shape and have an acuminate base. The flower has around 3 pistils and around 10 stamens.
