Bicolor sesban is a shrub that grows to a height of about 3 meters. The plant is often seen in Coimbatore planted in Miyawaki gardens. The compound leafs are arranged in an alternate manner, the leaflets are arranged in an opposite manner; the leaflets stalk measure around 1 mm, leaflet margin is entire. The leaflets measurers around 1.9 cm in length and are oblong with shape with both ends rounded. The inflorescence is in the form of a raceme with several flowers. The flower stalk and flower measurer around 1.5 cm and 1.7 cm respectively; the flower is pea shaped. The young buds appear clothed in blackish-purple cover. The calyx is dark in color and is bell shaped. The calyx teeth’s are very small. The flowers appear yellow-brown in color and have 10 stamens and a single style. The fruit is in the form of cylindrical thin pod which measure around 18-22 cm. The pod is initially green in color and turn grey color when they mature. The pod contains several seeds which are grey in color and oval shaped; they measurer around 1-2 mm.
