Common Name: Beach spider lily.
Beach spider lily is a stem less plant with all leafs arranged basally. The leaves are long and strap like and measure around 50 cm. The inflorescence emerges from below; measuring around 11.5 cm in length. The inflorescence is in the form of an umbel. The fragrant flowers are white in color with 6 appendages. These appendages are around 11.5 cm long and very narrow in shape. These appendages unite below to form a small tube like flower. The plant has 6 long stamens which are 7 cm long and one green colored stigma measuring 9.5 cm. The plant has underground rhizomes and is deployed as an ornamental plant. The plant is of South American origin.
