Arrow-leaf morning glory is a twinning perennial with slender purple colored stem. Often seen on road-sides and hedges in Tamilnadu. The plant is mostly glabrous sometimes found to be slightly pubescent. The leaves are simple and arranged in alternate manner: the leafing nodes are separated from one another by around 7.5 cm. The leaf stalk is around 1.8 cm, the leaf length around 2.5 cm. The leaf shape is triangular; some leafs are found to be sagittate shape. The leaf base is cordate and apex is acute. The inflorescence is axillary; around 6-7 flowers are held in an umbel. The flower is around 3.2 cm long; the tubular flower expands into a flat structure flower (salver form). The flowers come in whitish color with a tinge of purple; the flower tube has darker purple shade. The fruit is in the form of a globose capsule with four seeds. This plant can be used ornamental vine in home gardens.
